Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is a paramedical profession, which emphasizes the use of physical agents in disease management to prevention and rehabilitation of disabling conditions. Physiotherapy deals with problems particularly those associated with neuromuscular diseases, musculo-skeletal systems and cardio-vascular and respiratory
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy aims to provide therapeutic care and functional for persons with disabilities (physical and mental) so as to enable them to perform the function independently Viz possible. activities of daily living, play, performance workplace through simulators work, EMG-biofeedback, therapeutic activities, etc. In occupational therapy, modification, adaptation / Support & supporting devices are developed and used to make life more independent, productive and dignified.
Prosthetics and Orthotics
Prosthesis is an artificial replacement or substitute for any loss or part of a limb (edge) prostheses due to congenital or acquired causes. The profession earned her recognition in seventy early postwar period. This was due to the sudden increase in the number of amputees needing prosthetic limbs.

2.1 National Institute for orthopedic disabilities (INST), Kolkata .-
NIOH located BTRoad, Bon-Hooghly, Kolkata, was established in 1978. Also during that bachelors in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, prosthetics and orthotics, the Institute also offers Post-Graduate Diploma in Disability & Rehabilitation Management and Diplomat of National Board (DNB) in the PMR at its headquarters in Kolkata. Institute organizes also diploma courses in MRW,
Diploma in Tool & Die Making, Advanced Certificate in CAD-CAM in its collaborating centers Allah bad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Ludhiana. In the short term training programs for medical professionals and related services conducted annually. Institute is also introducing courses to its regional center in Dehradun and Aizawl.
Through its programs awareness of various parts of the country, especially in states like West Bengal, UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, NE states are affected. NIOH Composite supports a Center Regional Srinagar and conduct Diploma in Rehabilitation Therapy, Certificate of prosthetics and orthotics and over the Foundation for special education teachers. The Institute has a hospital of 50 beds with well-developed in and plant operation with the necessary laboratories and sophisticated. 2.2 Swami Vivekananda National Institute of Rehabilitation and Training and Research (SVNIRTAR), Cuttack
SVNIRTAR is located in Bairoi, District Cuttack, Orissa 30 kms from Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. The center of pilgrimage to Puri is also nearby. The Institute runs Bachelors Degree programs in physiotherapy, occupational therapy and prosthetics and orthotics. It also has 100-beded hospitals where interventions are made for people to deformities, contractures, clubfoot, and Hansen's disease, and has made a name for himself in limb lengthening surgeries across the Ilizarov method. The institution is strong in research and teaching has a good amount of work published. It also has well developed in the departments of physical medicine and rehabilitation, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and Prosthetics and Orthotics. SVNIRTAR also organizes courses Postgraduate Diploma as the National Board (DNB) in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, MSc in physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
