excel forms drop down box

Microsoft Excel is a powerful software, and most people underestimate the complexity and sophistication in the types of calculations it can handle. A good example Excel's power is its ability to "predict the future" (sort of!) with what-if scenarios.
What a scenario What-If?
A very useful things you can do in Excel you can not do easily with a piece of paper and a pencil (no matter size paper or size of your gum is) is to create scenarios. The numerical models are 'things in the world "(by example, investment patterns, scientific experiments, personal financial models, etc.) that are used to find how things change in different circumstances (given different inputs).
Each what-if scenario is composed of three elements:
a. Independent variable (s) (the "entrance" of your model).
b. Functions and formulas that affect your variables independent.
c. The dependent variables that change according to "a" and "b" (the "product" of your model).
These dependent variables that you try to predict, they are what you want to know more about who are the reason for building the model contained in the first place. With what-if scenarios, you first create a base model and then pinching (the configuration of different ways) forming various combinations of your independent variables (input) and / or your formulas and functions. The goal, of course, is to "see what will happen "in your dependent variable (s).
MS Excel: Examples of scenarios
Here are some common examples of what-if application scenario:
1. Divide your monthly discretionary income with your various types of debts (different credit cards, your mortgage, auto loans, etc.) to determine which combination of payments to each help you reduce your debts quickly.
2. Compare multiple offers rental cars that have different combinations of variables such as the amount of money due at signing, the monthly payment amounts and conditions lease, with the aim of determining that it will lead to lower total costs over the term of the lease.
3. Compare the total value of more jobs, including as independent variables signing bonus, salary, the value of benefits and annual bonus.
Using Research Solution
MS Excel is a tool very useful feature called Integrated Goal Seek. This is a scenario what-if somehow, but it does not require you to create multiple versions of a model to see what is translated version of the desired output value. Rather, with the search for a solution, you just set up the model once and then tell Excel the variables you are trying to achieve and what its value should be. You must also specify Excel as independent variables you want to automatically amended to provide that value.
Here's how search target value what-if analysis:
1. Start by creating a model. This could be as simple as entering two variables into two cells, then create a formula in a third cell, which refers to the first two and all the multiple values. Or it could be much more complex.
2. Click the Data tab. In the Data Tools section, select the icon What-If Analysis, and Research Solution from the menu.
3. In order to seek the dialog "Set cell" on the ground., Enter cell coordinates (eg, A4) of the cell to which you are trying to reach a certain value (eg, 14).
4. Then, enter the value you are trying to reach in the "value" field.
5. Finally, enter the cell coordinates in the "By changing cell" field the cell whose value you specify Excel to change to achieve the desired value in the first cell. Click OK. That's it!
You will see that Excel has automatically changed the value named to the desired value in another cell is reached. Target value is a by-use basis, but this is unfair as well. Once you learn to use it can be an excellent complement to your other analytical tools.

creating forms in access 2002

When you use Microsoft Access, many novice developers have trouble understanding the difference between Me.Refresh and Me.Requery. Then take a look the differences between the two.
Here is the brief version:
Both Refresh and Requery save changes to registration underway, but …
Me.Requery pulls all the new data table or underlying query, including additions and deletions;
Me.Refresh updates only the records of the current form, but not new or show deleted records.
The version Long:
Me.Requery forces from all recordings (underlying data) for the form to reload. This means that all recordings of your current form will be reloaded. Your current position will be lost, so if you are sitting on record 10 of 100, you'll find yourself on the first record. Me.Requery is essentially the same as closing and reopening the form. All new records added by other users simultaneously available. Likewise all the records that were deleted will disappear. Requery essentially "re-runs the query" pulling the data in the form of first place. You can also use a new application to update data in a list box or a combo box.
Me.Refresh saves the current record that you work. It will also retrieve all changes (but not additions or deletions) in all documents indicated in the present form. All calculations on the form (unbound fields) are recalculated. Refresh does not reload the recordset. You do not lose your position in the form (you stay on the current record). All new registrations added by other users will not be displayed.
If you want to open one form or another, especially a report that contains data on current form, you need to send a command Me.Refresh. I do it in my tutorial where we create the invoice based on the current order. Need a Me.Refresh to save the data to the table so it will be printed correctly. You can not use Requery because you put Disk 1 of the recordset, which might not be what you want.
There are also two other commands that are confused with refresh and update a lot: Recalc and repainting.
The Me.Repaint command simply redraws the current and all its controls on the screen. This is particularly useful when you use a form with timers and event loops and long you want to force anything on the screen (perhaps a meter) to update the event is on, so the user do not sit there and watch nothing happens. Repainting does not affect the data.
Forces Command Me.Recalc all controls calculated on the form to be reassessed. For example, if you're just showing items * UnitCost in a text box, and it is not the update, you could use Me.Recalc to force update. Honestly I never had to use Recalc before. Access is very good to recalculate automatically.
In my tutorials, I cover the Refresh command in many different places. I begin by show you the macro command Refresh in access 204. We then see as a command in Access VB 302. I cover Requery in Access 206, 306 and 307. From Right now I have not had to use repaint Recalc or in any of my tutorials. Again, they are very rare, but they are only available if you need it.
Richard Rost is President of 599CD Computer Training and Microsoft Access Tutorial.
