How do I raise this matter with her?

I started sixth form in September and I finally feel settled here. Although I just read the lesson plan for the week after next and we will discuss anorexia, with the theme of the media. I have suffered and I am currently struggling with it. I would like my teacher to be aware of this, however I have no idea how to approach this, as I do not really know her very well. It is my German course Im not sure if it makes a difference! Thank you in advance for your help!

First of all, congratulations to you for the help you need and go through what I presume was difficult. What about emailing your teacher? This way you can really go on what you mean before telling the teacher about it and may make changes before sending it. Here are some things to let your teacher know: Let the teacher know how you feel to discuss your experience in the classroom? If you do, let him know. If you do not, make sure she knows as well. This will be particularly useful if other students in your class know Do you live. Perhaps the teacher can avoid questions like "Does anyone know anyone who has suffered with anorexia?" This will make sure you do not feel identified in anyway. Is there anything you would like the teacher not to tell about the disease would make you uncomfortable? I can not guarantee that the teacher will take your suggestions, but if there are parts of the subject that you do not want to hear talk, maybe the teacher can avoid them. I give you a lot of credit, leaving the teacher to know. This will be useful for you and her for this topic will be to come. It will help teachers to guide students away from the discussion to topics that may be uncomfortable for you since sometimes students can be insensitive. Good luck and keep your hard work.
