For the Immigration Form I-130, what should be done so that the case is solved a.s.a.p? MEDICAL PROBLEM!!!?

I applied for the I-130 form, but the state of my health requires an urgent treatment in the USA. What do I need to do so that I can get the visa as soon as possible in order to enter the USA and get the treatment?

You don’t mention what sort of I-130 classification you’re applying for. If you are in one of the Immediate Relative categories, that’s one thing, but even there, USCIS isn’t really set up to give expedited processing, so your relative could ask the congressman for help, but it’s hard to say how much help that would be. If you are applying in one of the preference categories, the processing times can be very long indeed. Your medical condition won’t be a factor in speeding up priority dates and determining whether your petition is current or not.

The fact that you need immediate medical treatment could complicate your ability to be approved, as you still need to take the immigrant physical and your relative would need to show their ability to pay for your treatment.

You could apply for a B1/B2 visa while waiting to process your immigrant visa for medical treatment in the US, but you will need to show what your condition is, who is going to treat it and where, how long the treament is expected to last and cost. And again, you would need to demonstrate how you will be able to pay the estimated costs.

Finally, if you are turned down for the B1/B2 visa, you could also apply for Humanitarian Parole through immigration. Check out uscis.gov for more information on that.

So my question is that if you are raising a child together, have you considered marriage? I’m not talking about the child’s sake but for each of you. Do you have a civil union or domestic partnership? My guess is that because you are in Florida, you don’t. And there are no nearby states which allow for them.

I think it is terrible that so many states are ruled by provincial and bigoted thinking. That basically subscribe to the modern form of stoning.

I am so proud of my niece who was just married to her wonderful partner of several years in one of those few states which do permit same gender marriage. Proud because she finally made that commitment – her sexual preference actually has nothing to do with it except that we all really like her life partner and are glad to see them legally protected now. And yes, I am pleased that she was able to make that grown-up step.
